An opinion directed to the evidence
Expert reporting brings together the forensic question, relevant material, examination, interpretation and the basis for the opinion. A useful report distinguishes observations from conclusions and makes assumptions and limitations clear.
The scope may include conferences, supplementary analysis and evidence in proceedings where required. The expert’s opinion remains independent of the outcome sought by the instructing party.
